Since they were in the Waldorf Early Childhood Program sixth graders have been singing and playing musical instruments, drawing and painting. It is only natural, then, that their first laboratory science -- Physics -- would begin with Acoustics and Light and Color. Eschewing dry laboratory reports (as well as "demonstrations" that take place only a computer screen) Waldorf teachers bring these sciences to life with hands-on demonstrations and artistic renditions of what students have experienced and discovered. --Notes by Eugene Schwartz
